About

Held annually during the Spring semester, the St Mary's Gala is a wonderful opportunity for parents, grandparents, families, faculty, parishioners, staff, and businesses to come out for an evening of fun, food, and music in support of our school! This year, our theme is “City of Light - Masquerade in Paris.” Paris has long been known as the “City of Light.” For us, those words took on a meaningful interpretation. Jesus tells His disciples, “You are the light of the world.” We felt this is a beautiful connection to the excitement of an evening in Paris with our faith and the mission of Saint Mary’s. We are called to be the light and share our faith with the world. Masquerade in Paris gives us the fun and glamour of the evening! City of Light gives the theme its heart and center.

How does the Gala help St Mary's?

School tuition covers only about 80% of the cost to educate a student. St Mary’s depends on donations from alumni and fundraisers to cover the difference. Our major fundraisers, Annual Fund, Gala, and Golf Classic attempt to close the gap on daily operations as well as fund capital projects, while continuing to provide tuition assistance. Funds raised through the 2027 St Mary's Gala will go towards capital improvements on campus. Recent projects include the construction of Gwynn Garden, new computers in the computer lab, the renovation and upgrade of the Baum Center, new face camera door locks on all buildings, and the much-needed repairs to the Pazdan Hall entryway.

Proceeds from the Gala have been used for capital improvement projects including:

  • Gwynn Garden - our plaza renovation and construction of a covered walkway between Mercy and Gallivan Halls
  • Classroom furniture and renovations
  • SMART Boards, projectors, books, and supplies for all grade levels
  • Security/safety enhancements to all school buildings
  • Construction and outfitting of the Clinkscales Family Gymnasium
  • Furnishings for the Clinkscales Family Gymnasium
  • Updating our library's collection of books and media
  • Patriot's Day supplies for 4th Grade
  • ...and much, much more!

Bon Secours St. Francis Health Systems has been an incredible sponsor of the Gala by funding health needs for our school which have included (but not limited to):

  • LED Vision Screening Kit to complete Vision Screenings on Students
  • Audiometer to conduct Hearing Screenings on Students
  • Sensory Kits for K3, K4, K5, and our HealthRoom
  • New AEDs for Campus Buildings and replacement AED batteries needed every few years
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Training for Teachers & Staff
